Space Orx Marines, circa 1968

I love Injurius Games from Red Shirt games.  "Excuse me, what's that now?" I hear you say......

I number of years ago at ORIGINS my friend Glenn and I played in a "Keep what you Kill" game featuring big stompy Mecks.  It was played on a battlefield divided into squares.  And it used 12 sided dice.  It was Hella fun!  It turns out that it was actually a supplement to a core set of rules called Injurius Games.

I believe that Red Shirt Games has stopped publishing, but they still have a presence on the web:  http://www.redshirtgames.com and at ORIGINS and Gen Con.  What connection the guys running the games have to the Game Company itself I'm unclear about.  But they are a great bunch of people who put on a good time!

Two years ago at ORIGINS the guys who were doing events of this game had copies of the rules for sale along with some of the miniatures and supplements.  These core rules featured the Space Ranger miniatures as "Gladiators" fighting in the games.

I bought the rules and some minis and we had a blast playing them during the year.  Even took them to our local gaming events where they were enthusiastically received.

Red Shirt Games also produced a number of supplements that featured miniatures from other companies.  Last year at ORIGINS, it turned out, the Red Shirt guys were running their game again.  And again, they had supplements and miniatures for sale.  One of the supplements is called Space Orx...which I picked up.

The miniatures that this supplement is designed around are produced by RAFM and to the best of my knowledge are still available for sale.  As a matter of fact, here is a link to the RAFM site where you can see them:

The minis have the look (to me) of US Infantry during the Vietnam Conflict, so I painted them in my best approximation of the US uniforms and then applied a "Magic Dip". So without further adieu, here is my take on Injurius Games Space Orx......

First, a group shot:

Here is "Ell Tee"

 "Sarge"

The Laser Gatling Gunner

The Grenadier (with a pack of Lucky Strikes in his helmet strap)

And finally, the Riflemen

They were a hoot to paint.  I can't wait to send them into the Injurius Games when the Pandemic thing is over.......

If you are interested in the Injurius Games system itself, you can find it at Nobel Knights Games.  They have some of the boxed sets, (along with the fantasy sister system), supplements and minis for sale.
